The China-Taiwan Research Institute
The China-Taiwan Research Institute (CTRI) is a research website where researchers can upload articles, a think tank dedicated to researching international security regarding China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Products include online journal, podcast series and other virtual events.
I was asked to design the logo for it. The idea was to combine a popular Chinese flower (Chinese Peony) and Taiwan’s national flower (Plum Blossom) for the pictogram. The two flowers represent two distinct identities placed together for a sense of harmony.
The logo had to be simple and non-political, conveying professionality, accuracy to represent experts with a deep understanding of the people, politics, culture and security of China and Taiwan.
